‘Like Kenny Ball’s Jazz Men on acid.’ - Mark Radcliffe, (BBC Radio 1)

As their 30th Anniversary celebrations continue apace, Liverpool prog jazz legends Wizards of Twiddly convene once again at their spiritual home of the Zanzibar Club to create sweet musical mayhem and cavort as the sun goes down this Summer Solstice. Ably supporting them on this voyage into the dark half of the year will be Sir Henry Rawlinson himself, the current lead singer of those court jesters of the 60s counter culture - The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band - Michael Livesley. Who will be joined by his Musical Chums. 'An outrageous talent' - Stephen Fry, (National Treasure)

This will be the inaugural Liverpool Prog Society show. A brand new venture in association with PROG Magazine which aims to bring the best of Prog Music old and new to Liverpool. For further info please visit www.facebook.com/LiverpoolProgSociety

‘Breathtaking, dazzling.’ – Mark Radcliffe (Radio 2 – The Folk Show)

GRYPHON – the undisputed Emperors of the niche genre that is ‘Mediaeval Prog’ have been a source of joy, wonder and beauty ever since they first hit the music scene in 1973. During the 1970s they released hit album after hit album and also supported YES on their 1975 World Tour. However, despite any misconceived perception that these are yesterday’s men, GRYPHON are very much a band of the now. Their 2018 album – REINVENTION – proving to be the dazzling return to form that their fans worldwide so long for craved. GRYPHON, featuring original members GRAEME TAYLOR, DAVE OBERLÉ and BRIAN GULLAND, complimented by new boys ANDY FINDON, GRAHAM PRESKETT and RORY McFARLANE have very much risen once again from the glowing embers of our mystical past and are painting the present in hues of damask and gold.

POISONED ELECTRICK HEAD – DRINK ME (REFILLED) (Nov 2nd)

‘Mind altering dub-stances’ – Terry Christian (Channel 4 – The Word)

POISONED ELECTRICK HEAD – named after possibly one of the most obscure BONZOS lyrics, (from the closing lines of ‘My Pink Half of the Drainpipe’ no less), have been part of British counterculture since their inception in the North Western industrial wastelands of ST HELENS in the mid 1980s. Due to their eclectic mix of DEVO and DADA they very quickly emerged as one of the most prominent bands of the notorious Free Festival circuit of the 80s and 90s. A cultural phenomena who threatened the incumbent Tory Govt of the time so much that an entire law – The Criminal Justice Bill – was placed on the statute books in an attempt to put a stop to ‘gatherings of more than 4 people’ listening to ‘repetitive beats’. However, even Maggie Thatcher and Rhodes Boysen were no match for ‘Lecky Head’s coal faced coalescence of Northern grit. The Liverpool Prog Society and PROG Magazine are proud to announce that on Nov 2nd these ‘GRANDPARENTS OF PRONK’ (PROG-PUNK) shall return to the stage to ‘refill’ their ground breaking 1987 demo ‘DRINK ME’ in all its demented and glorious majesty.
